“A healthy mind in a healthy body.” This is certainly an adage to which Quainton Hall School vigorously subscribes. Children of all abilities at Quainton Hall School take part from an early age in a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities. Experience of team games helps to develop confidence and to build character. Teamwork and representing Quainton Hall School are also important. Fun, camaraderie and good sportsmanship permeate all that we do in this important area. Our strong House structure enables all our children to play in sports competitions throughout the year.  We have a flourishing and extensive Fixture List with other schools and attempt to give as many boys as possible the opportunity to play at team level. Our boys go on to senior schools having sampled many different activities and with a solid grounding in all major team sports. We have an outdoor five-a-side court and an indoor sports hall on site for training purposes. We also make use of nearby green open spaces, including the excellent Kodak playing fields, which provide us with a first-rate facility for games sessions and a locale for  playing home fixtures. All our children have access to our indoor swimming pool throughout the year, either in lesson time or as an activity. We encourage them to work for swimming awards from the start and by the age of 12+ they can provide an extremely competitive school swimming team. Matches against other schools are organised from the age of 6+ and all our children in the Reception Class (4+) have an intensive swimming course in the summer. This ia taught by our fully-qualified swimming teacher. Copyright (c) 2009 Quainton Hall School All rights reserved. |
