Junior School

Children between four and six attend the Junior School. Boys and girls join our Reception Class ( 4+) , usually in September. We aim to provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment, in which all the children are encourages to use and develop their talents as they grow socially, physically, emotionally and intellectually.

The Junior School has its own separate accommodation on the main school campus. Its three Classes (4+, 5+ and 6+) are staffed by three teachers and their three experienced assistants. Specialist staff teach music, PE and Games. Matches with other schools are organised for children from the age of six.

Close contact is maintained with parents. There are two Parent/Teacher consultations a year, when parents and staff review a child's development and progress. A detailed report is issued each term. Experience shows that parents value the close collaboration which we actively pursue between school and home.

At the age of 7+, girls transfer to appropriate senior schools in North West London. Parents secure our active help and direct advice in the matter of school transfer. The boys continue into Form I (year 3) where they begin their career in the Middle School.

Our Junior School children assemble in the playground from 8.20am each day. Their lessons normally finish at 3.15pm. Some after-school care is available once a child has been at Quainton Hall for four weeks.
