Reception & Pre-Prep Our Reception and Pre-Prep Department is open to boys and girls aged 4 to 7. Reception continues the work of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and we aim to provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment in which all the children are encouraged to use and develop their talents as they grow socially, physically, emotionally and academically. Reception and Pre-prep has its own separate building on the main school site and its three classes are staffed by three full time teachers and three full time Teaching Assistants. We provide a full, varied and exciting curriculum and we aim to cultivate an enjoyment of learning and independence of thought, leading to a seamless transfer to the Prep Department. Close contact with parents is a feature of our department and there are two parent consultation evenings in the year, together with a detailed report of progress being issued twice a year, together with a short report card issued at the end of Lent term. There are opportunities to meet with staff at any time by prior appointment and the contact between home and school is valued by parents. At the age of 7+, girls transfer to appropriate schools in North West London whilst the boys continue into the Prep department. Pre-Prep children may assemble in the playground from 8.20am each day. Lessons begin at 8.40am and end at 3.15 pm. There is a late class specifically for children whose older siblings finish at 3.45pm and there is a facility for those who need to stay until 4.30pm.
