Proud of our Pupils
I was a very proud Headmaster as I watched our best mathematicians compete in the semi-final of the National Maths Quiz Competition. Aran A, Adarsh A, Harry O and Aryan S did incredibly well in what proved to be a competitive field. My congratulations go to them and I know Mrs Khan is already preparing for next year.
Unfortunately due to the temperatures on Wednesday the PP1 trip to the London Aquarium was cancelled. I am sure there will be other opportunities on offer soon.
Our first ‘Creative Arts Week’ has been a great success thanks to Ms Campion. The children’s lessons have all ocussed on the theme of ‘Oceans and seas’. From what I have seen there has been some impressive work this week. The drama workshop on Wednesday was well received as was the dance on Friday. I hope that some of the groups are brave enough to take it a bit further and perform at Speech Day. We will wait and see.
As we approach the final three weeks of term I would ask that parents do not make appointments to see the staff as they are very busy at this time of year. You will all be receiving comprehensive reports at the end of term that will give you a good insight in to how your child is doing. Please do not be disappointed if staff decline meetings.
I would like to remind parents that children should be in school by 8.30am every morning. If they arrive after this time they will be recorded as late. Next year the start of the day bell will go at 8.25am giving the children time to put their bags in their lockers and make their way to their classes. I would recommend parents aim to have their children at school no later than 8.25am so that they have time to get ready for the day.
Next week there are a number of events that I would like to make you aware of. On Tuesday 27th June at 7.00pm the Chapel will be hosting the Piano Concert. P7 parents and pupils are invited to an evening on Wednesday 28th June. Move up day takes place for PPR to P3 on Thursday 29th June, with a FQHS tea party at 3.15pm and a presentation to PP2 parents at 6.00pm.
Finally I would like to wish you a very happy Eid. If you wish to celebrate with your family I would respectfully ask that you inform the school office that your son or daughter will be absent from school on Monday.
