A Celebratory Afternoon Tea to Mark 125 Years

Our 125th Anniversary Afternoon Tea, and the first of our 125th anniversary celebrations this week was a great success.

It was wonderful to have had so many parents and pupils join us for a delicious vintage style afternoon tea set against a backdrop of beautiful cakes, bunting and live piano music, courtesy of Mr Haswell.

The highlight of the event was arguably the outstanding array of baked delights created by our incredibly talented pupils and staff for our 125th Anniversary QHS Bake-Off Competition.  We had over 70 entries and the quality and standard of the children’s bakes was simply exceptional, which made choosing our winners an extremely difficult task for our judge, Chef Mark from Holroyd Howe.

After so many months apart, it was wonderful to be able to gather together and enjoy what we hope will be the first of many an afternoon of celebration.

Thank you to everyone for making it such a special occasion, especially our amazing bakers young and old, the Year 6’s who took on the role of waiting staff and the amazing Holroyd Howe catering team for their super selection of sweet and savoury sensations!
