There is undoubtedly a connection between health and fitness and a child’s academic attainment.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoy exciting and educational weekly Forest School sessions. A purpose-built area has been created at John Lyon’s playing fields at Sudbury for the children to use. We have two specialist Forest School teachers who take the two-hour lessons, with the support of Quainton Hall teachers.
Our Forest School is multi-sensory. Children engage in new activities and build a huge range of core skills, including developing confidence, communication, teamwork, leadership and resilience. They take part in a variety of different activities, encouraging them to take risks within a supportive environment. Children also the opportunity to gain knowledge, learning about different birds, trees and nature more broadly, whilst spending time outdoors in the fresh air and enjoying sessions with their friends and classmates.
