We are delighted to announce that from January 2024, we will come ever closer under one clear John Lyon School masterbrand. From this point, our single John Lyon School name and logo will be used to represent us at all levels and all of our sites, including our Prep School on Hindes Road, our Senior School on Middle Road and our Sudbury Fields on Sudbury Hill.

Family and friends were treated to an evening of incredible talent at the Celebration of Music Autumn show.

What an incredible start to the school year! The pupils have embraced the first week with great enthusiasm and energy, diving right back into the rhythm of school.

Following a thorough recruitment process, the Governors are delighted to announce that Mrs Sonal Chatrath has been appointed as Head of John Lyon Prep School (Quainton Hall) from 1st January 2024.

The Summer Fair held last Saturday was a great success, thanks to the fantastic weather and the support of many QHS parents. Led by Dr Manju Sharma-Bhatt and Mr Anil Kavia, the community came together for this event, which was the first fair since 2019.

Pupils from Year 3 to 5 embarked on an adventure of a lifetime to LEGOLAND.

Little Lyon pupils joyfully embraced the last half-term of the school year with a delightful ice cream-making activity.

The Little Lyons and Pre-Prep had an amazing time at their Dinosaur Workshop on Wednesday.

Congratulations to our Quainton Hall Prep and John Lyon Senior teams for winning both of their categories in the Harrow 451 Sustainability competition and also being runners-up in the second round. 

Values Day is an exciting annual fixture in our calendar. It not only provides us with a unique opportunity to promote and reflect upon our core eight values, but it also brings together as one 3-18 all-through school, from our Little Lyon’s Nursery right the way up to Sixth Form, to celebrate our wonderful community!

After almost a decade as Headmaster of Quainton Hall School, John Lyon’s Prep School, and following a career in education spanning the last 33 years, I write to share my decision to retire as Headmaster in December, at the end of the Autumn Term 2023, to relocate with my family to Norfolk.

All the pupils and staff had a brilliant day celebrating the King’s Coronation.

Last week, the magic and wonder of the Harry Potter universe came to life for Years 5 and 6 pupils during their visit to the Warner Bros Harry Potter Studios.

We hosted an International Bring and Share Supper Party to celebrate the wonderful cultural diversity of the school.  It was the first large scale event at the school since lockdown and it was lovely to have so many families attend.   

Our Little Lyons pupils were experiencing a range of emotions associated with the arrival of spring as they received a batch of duck eggs in their classroom.

On Friday 10th March, some of our pupils headed over to John Lyon to participate in a 12-hour swimathon.

Year 2 had a very exciting trip to the London Aquarium this week.

Our Chamber Choir attended the National Choral Competition at the Birmingham Symphony Hall on the 28th February, the largest of its kind in the UK.
